This Solarlink FR600 does more than keep you connected. This self-powered all-band radio boasts an impressive list of features that include AM/FM and Shortwave radio reception, all seven NOAA “National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration” weather band channels as well as Specific Area Message Encoding (S.A.M.E) for location based weather alerts which allows the user to receive weather alerts specified to the area they are currently in. Added features includes an easy to read digital display, hand-crank power generator, solar power, rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, built-in flashlight, flashing red LED light as well as built-in USB cell phone and MP3 charging capabilities. If that wasn’t enough, the Solarlink FR600 includes a full sized USB port to easily charge any small electrical device such as an mp3 player or cell phone.

The technology featured in the Solarlink ensures that you will have everything you need whether you are hitting the beach or climbing the highest peaks. With its digital tuner, Alarm/Clock functionality and auxiliary input for use with other audio sources, one could argue it’s not just a radio, but a necessity for anyone looking for adventure.
Rugged Design and Reliable Redundant Power Sources
The Solarlink FR600 is rugged for outdoor use, and is more than ready to go with no plugs or wires needed. Clever case design protects the analog controls from damage, while rubber gaskets and plugs help keep moisture out of the unit. Having a device that sports multiple modes of communication means nothing if there is no way to power it. The built-in rechargeable battery pack can be charged from the integrated dynamo hand crank, or from an optional USB adapter. An array of water resistant, shatterproof, high performance glass encapsulated amorphous solar cells can also run the Solarlink FR600. They are efficient enough to power the unit under direct sunlight. These multiple power supplies can also be used to recharge cell phones via USB charging cable (not included).
