Simple Water Pumps

Simple Pump is a prominent manufacturer of manual well pumps. These Simple water pumps can be used next to existing motorized systems or they can have a motor extension and solar panel attached to operate on their own. A lack of dependence on existing grid systems is a goal of sustainable living, and using a well pump allows you to move away from traditional water sources.

Simple water pumps work with shallow and deep wells. As a backup, these pumps are needed for those who use a motorized system. The power can go out on occasion and, to get the water you need, a hand pump can be installed next to the existing system. Simple water pumps go over four to eight-inch wells and bring up five gallons of water per minute at normal pressure.

All Simple water pumps use a rod design. The pump is equipped with a 24-inch handle, although Simple has a 36-inch option. The larger handle decreases the required force needed for pumping from eight to four pounds and allows the user to bring up water from farther below the surface. The hand pump is made from lead-free, CNC-machined stainless steel and is Safe Drinking Water Act compliant. Additionally, the system is easy to install and low maintenance.

Simple water pumps are advertised as being a backup system, but they can also be used on their own. A DC motor extension kit can attach to the existing pump and, when using solar power, acts like an automatic well pump. A 130 watt solar panel running to the motor is needed to bring up a day’s worth of water, 250 gallons, for a family. If your household uses more than this amount, an additional solar panel is needed. When used as a primary pump, Simple well pumps will attach to a two-inch well and will cut existing electricity costs.
