Mountain House offers many food storage packages. Made of several canned and pouch freeze dried foods, these food storage packages by Mountain House are designed for one person or a family. For one person, a package of Mountain House freeze dried food may last from one to four years. An average package of freeze dried foods is designed with two to three full meals per day for one person.
Mountain House cans offer the longest food storage available, with one able to last up to 30 years. In fact, the longevity of these products has paved the way for Mountain House to can MRE foods for the military. All Mountain House canned freeze dried foods sold through our store are packed in airtight #10 cans. 98 percent of residual oxygen is removed from the can, and the canning process involves removing oxygen and flushing nitrogen. The cans, additionally, are coated with protective enamel. Nevertheless, after you open a #10 can of Mountain House food, realize that the food should be used within a week.
All Mountain House food storage packages are equipped with many options for sustained dining over a years’ period or longer. All storage packages contain various entrees, breakfast foods, meats, vegetables, desserts, and fruits – even the popular Mountain House beef teriyaki. Additional freeze dried foods can be added to each storage combination.
