The selection we carry has all of the favorite freeze dried foods, such as Mountain House beef teriyaki, in can and pouch form. A Canadian Mountain House emergency food kit contains enough pouches of freeze dried food to last an individual three days, with three meals per day. A 72-hour emergency kit has several options for entrees, breakfast foods, and vegetables. All freeze dried foods in the kit need water and, after cooking for a few minutes, are ready to eat.
Aside from an emergency kit, many Canadian Mountain House foods can be bought through our store. Packaged in #10 cans or pouches, these freeze dried foods include several breakfast items with eggs, several entrée combinations, and desserts, such as freeze dried ice cream bars. Food in pouches is designed to last for seven years, if unopened, while food in cans should last from 25 to 30 years. In all cases, a serving of food from a pouch or a can needs water and, within minutes, is ready to eat.
