Many types of Mountain House foods are stored in #10. This ranges from many entrée options to breakfast foods and snacks. If you’re planning to live sustainably for an extended period, you can choose from Mountain House foods in #10 cans. Full food storage packages are available but foods can also be purchased individually through our store.
All Mountain House freeze dried foods are packaged into cans through a process that removes oxygen and flushes nitrogen. All containers, as a result, have 98 percent of the oxygen removed, which results in a longer shelf life than most freeze dried cans. All Mountain House #10 cans of food will last for 25 to 30 years if unopened. Cans are coated with a protective enamel inside, and all come with a plastic resealable lid for reuse. A can contains eight to 50 servings of food, depending upon the product or the meal, and should be consumed within a week to prevent spoilage.
