AlpineAire Gourmet Reserves Food Storage Packages consist of a blend of #10 and #2 1/2 Cans.  Our Individual #10 Cans are approximately one gallon in size and our #2 1/2 Cans are approximately one quart in size.  These Cans are constructed of heavy-gauge steel with food grade enamel coating on the inside. A "state of the art" oxygen absorber is placed in each can to insure the very best shelf-life.

Alpine Aire offers several options for food storage. The use of freeze dried and no-cook foods extends to both emergency preparation and outdoor activities like camping and hiking. The various kits of freeze dried and no-cook foods by Alpine Aire are assembled for these purposes, with each containing a combination of cans and pouches of food that needs water. No matter if a kit contains freeze dried, dehydrated, ready-to-eat, or instant meals, all Alpine Aire Foods retain 98 percent of their original nutritional content and 100 percent of the original fiber.

Most meal kits by Alpine Aire are made of #10 and #2 ½ cans. The #10 cans are about one gallon in size and made with heavy-gauge steel coated with food-grade enamel on the inside. The can, additionally, has an oxygen absorber on the interior for the best shelf life. Typically, one of these cans has a shelf life of 15 years.

Aside from cans, many Alpine Aire freeze dried and dehydrated foods come in 100 percent, 75 percent, and 50 percent no-cook options. The foods that often involve the least amount of cooking time are stored in pouches, and these in particular are ideal for outdoor activities. Alpine Aire backpack food can be taken on a camping or hiking trip and, at the campsite, heated or cooked with water briefly.

Long-term food storage strategies can be created from the several Alpine Aire kits. Each of these contains several cases of #10 and #2 ½ cans and is designed to last for a year for one to two people. Food may be a combination of staples, such as various freeze dried or dehydrated vegetables, beans, grains, and fruits and, with larger kits, several entrees and breakfast items are added. A cookbook is also added to many long-term food storage kits by Alpine Aire, as cooking freeze dried and dehydrated food requires different cooking techniques and some creativity.
